Fremantle Amateur Angling Club (FAAC)

Monthly Beach and Rock Field Days

The Club holds a shore-based beach or rock Field Day competition event each month, including three long weekend events per year. Destinations extend from Kalbarri to Bremer Bay with locations including Margaret River, Cheynes Beach, Denmark, Jurien Bay, S-Bend, Preston/White Hills, Port Gregory, Lancelin and the Perth metropolitan coastline. The Club also holds an annual Rottnest Island Field Day which is a combined social and fishing weekend. Members are accommodated together on the island.

Annual Estuary Competitions

The estuary fishing competition is run separately with seven events a year spread across both the Swan/Canning Rivers and the Peel/Harvey Estuaries. As these events are close to Perth, they are a good family and beginner-friendly option. You can fish close to home, in comfort and for a low cost.

Organised Social Activities

A range of social events are held during the year, such as the Annual Dinner and Trophy Presentation, casual lunches and a popular crabbing weekend at Mandurah. A Club calendar is released annually and is available on the FAAC website and Facebook page.

Club Newsletter

The newsletter is distributed monthly, providing a recap on the previous month’s meeting and Club events. The newsletter keeps members up to date with a wide range of information relating to Club activities, coming events and tips on how to improve your fishing knowledge and skills.

New Members

The Club is family-friendly and encourages new members. Become part of a friendly, close-knit group whose members will make you feel welcome, help when needed and generally make your Club membership an enjoyable experience. To ensure the Club is right for you, come along to a Club meeting, activity or Field Day as a visitor before you decide whether to join.

After you've attended two General Meetings & one Field Day you can be nominated for club membership.

Annual Membership

Membership is the same price for an individual or family unit - $100.00 annually. Family membership generally covers up to two adults (parents, grandparents or carers) together with children in their care who are living at the same residence. We cater for all types of anglers. Whether they be the competitive, well-organised angler; the angler who is keen but not overly serious; or the casual, social angler to whom fishing is just incidental to a relaxing weekend camping trip to various interesting locations and in good company. You can draw on the valuable knowledge and advice of experienced Club anglers to improve your own fishing skills.

Club Affiliations

FAAC is associated with RecfishWest, the organisation representing recreational fishing interests in this State. This body provides our Club with communication links to the relevant Minister for Fisheries and associated government authorities.
